Well merchandise isn’t really the correct name here, because I nor my pet humans make any commission (earnings) on these products at all. The webshop we use to make my ‘merch’ is set to 100% non-profit, you can find more information about that here.
My pet humans just thought it would be cool if I would have my own branding and if they (themselves) could use/wear it when walking or traveling with me outside. And later-on they decided to make it available for the public for anyone whom would like to get it, or for anyone who wants to show that they are a fan of me 😍.
